Humans All Are Powerless: Part 1

So perfectly, the Infinity Saga has come to a close.

You know how we would like our lives to be just as cool, epic, succinct, and bow-tied as the movies? Well, as you’ve noticed, things can never be that way.

And even in this chapter of closure for Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, they are still passing the baton (or the shield) on to the former sidekicks now main stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I don’t know how the topic I chose to write on today coincided so much with the highlight of my week (ahem, Avengers: Endgame), but it does.

As much as we would like to wallow in ourselves and in all our troubles and in what we’ve lived through to become the people we’ve become, we need to pick up the baton back up and keep moving forward.

Even though many times in life always seems like the end of Avengers: Infinity War, we need to move on and “get a life” as Captain Rogers puts it.

We’re not the last ones in this race, and in order that things go better than when we left them, we need to run our lap of the race well to give the next runner a chance.

Just as acting is necessary, not dropping the baton is as well.

These fleshly bodies we live in on earth for just a short time can sometimes be misguiding and lead us to believe our lives are not about others and are not about batons in need of passing. But in a strange way, without others, we have no life.

Generations before us have pondered what our generation would be and what times we would live in and face. We must be mindful of the generations to come and world we leave behind for them to live in and face.

We’re here to, no matter what walks of life we all are in, live not for self but for others. We must remember this world is not any one person’s. It doesn’t even belong to this generation living today, but to the one after this one. But the world won’t belong to the next generation either.

We humans are all powerless. Only the power of God affords humanity the grace to have the power continue on living.

What worth is there to living for other helpless human beings? Who else is there to live for if not for humans?

You know Who.

The baton is in your hands. Find the best way to run this race and run it with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul.
